Investment decision-making

The Heads of the investment strategy teams (Portfolio advisers or Lead Fund Partners) are responsible for formulating and implementing the investment strategy. As a rule, the Portfolio Adviser has full control over the investment portfolio – but we are diligent in ensuring that positions in our portfolio are covered by the research team prior to investing.

All of our investment activities are subject to strict risk and compliance clearance processes, and the Risk Officer or CIO may become involved to reduce risk if they deem it necessary.  The Chief Investment Officer, Jochen Wermuth (and Marina Shestakova, Deputy CIO) retains a right of veto over investment strategies on specific investments.  While this is rarely used, institutional investors can rely on the Chief Investment Officer to ensure global and local risks are constantly being monitored, that due procedures are followed and investments are protected by a functioning risk management framework.

All investment decision-making is subject to the Firm’s investment committee rules.
